THE VIOLET WEST
Fantasy Novels & Graphic Novels

Fun and cozy read recs for this weekend. September was a chaotic and I'm a bit sick so I may take a longer time to get to all promised reviews but I'm trying. Check out each cover 👆 #middlegradebooks I think... yes, these are all @penguinkids books (I should stop narrating while I write these) I got the Neverfear Barnes and Noble exclusive edition it's pretty with the amazing edges.

Last time I reviewed A Human Element (perfect for dark thriller readers - adult), and while you are meeting these three unforgettable characters, your little ones are meeting other fantastic ones with the Andrews McMeel trilogy Epic: Unicorn Island Trilogy. If you don't know, Loon Cove Summer is an amazing Summer Camp read, and the characters will capture adults and young readers. Not only is the main character dealing with grief and the loss of a parent, but she will do all

📚📮 Author Spotlight. Can you believe that... 👉 I only discovered this author when I was an adult because of a Master Class subscription. It was awesome listening to him explain his love for spooky but also having fun/enjoying humor. 👉 I knew of Goosebumps because of the TV show, but I had never read one 🧡 The covers are always amazing. I can't wait to review these. 💙❓️Share with me your experience/memories of reading this author. 💜 The best Spooky recs for this Fall. I

Book here ● Review ● #gamerville This is an auto-buy graphic novel author for me. There is always a great balance between drama, serious themes, and positive resolutions. Great values and life lessons. In this volume, we have two main cores and several subthemes. First: the life of gamers who focus on online lifestyle vs. outdoor activities. The author shows more similarities than differences, and I appreciate that, I love both: games and the outdoors in a balanced way, and I

My review: A fun read with humor magic and adventure, making it an uplifting girl rising to power kind of story & entertaining. It's not a portal fantasy. Wonderful magical worlds. My review 4.5 ⭐️ Oh, fun, awesome eerie super creepy story with a hint of Twilight Zone. I was a child who loved Hitchcock's movies as well, and I loved this audiobook. Short and dark, two siblings find a small town and ask them to save their dad, who is injured after a canoeing incident. The adults are super creepy but not as much as the giant scarecrow the size of a building that can control minds. It's a non-stop action, survival with a satisfying ending. I'm curious about

My review: 5 plus plus Made in Asian is a rich educational and indispensable American History book that should belong to every house, School, library, and anywhere people still don't understand that knowledge is an empowering weapon. Each chapter is the perfect length and with the right focus, starting with notions of Columbus and explaining how racist ideologies were enough to justify so many wrong acts. The book is not just about one country or one region of a country, but

Book Mail from Tor books: Wolfsong (The first out of 4 books) is by TJ Klune, the same author of The House in the Cerulean Sea and my favorite: Under the Whispering Door. I hope to read the In the Lives of Puppets soon. Foul Days (book 1) The Witcher meets Naomi Novik in this fast-paced fantasy rooted in Slavic folklore, from an assured new voice in the genre. Service Model - awesome robot main character! I'm loving it. Murderbot meets Redshirts in a delightfully humorous tal

My review: 5 stars A great middle-grade story of dealing with family, culture, and middle school all at once. Clever title, because Kevin's mom makes clothes alterations but there is a lot of change in their life right now. Kevin's grandmother moves in after mom's divorce and they all try to move on from the break. The older sister used to be Kevin's friend and they used to have fun but the pressure of College approaching, dad leaving and ending contact with them, plus shari
