The Humans, Catch-22 & Sociopath. @simonbooks #simonbooksbuddy #simonbuddyreads thank you for the copy of Humans Review of The Humans: 5 stars From the author of A boy Called Christmas I love books where robots or aliens try to make sense of what humanity is and even after pointing out all flaws and inconsistencies they still prefer the pain and struggle of becoming human than living in their perfect organized existence. This is one of the stories. At first, I thought the mai

Happy Release Week for Hooray, It's Three Kings Day . 🎄 I miss how we used to build a tiny village under the tree with flowing water and include all the important nativity figures. 🎁 I always loved the 3 kings and always remembered celebrating Day 6 of January with our Portuguese King Cake, which is a very tasty cake with fruit. Like Santa leaves gifts on the 24th (December) night, the Kings leave on the 5th (January). ❤️ This book explains well what Kings Day is and even i

The After World: a novel Review Available in paperback (love this editions cover) 5 stars What a bleak, awesome, creative, masterful, apocalyptic dystopian novel that subtly pays homage to many works published before of the same genre without being obvious. It is meta in many ways, futuristic, unrealistic, yet completely possible as a future for our demise as a human race, ignoring climate change. The narrator is unique, and the last pages will turn the entire novel into some

Review: #thelastmurderattheendoftheworld As a murder mystery, it's a 4, but as a sci-fi dystopian, it's a 5 for me. My favorite part was not one chapter or a unique scene, but the entire novel as a whole after finishing and looking back. Although it has a lot of great moments, lines, and plot twists, it only works if we don't skip, not even one paragraph. The main character is a person who has a skill that doesn't fit the world she lives in. To them, she is useless. She qu

My review Book Tour... stop... theme park... My review: 5 Love the cover and their names as titles of each chapter. The font is very pretty. Teens decide to go to an abandoned theme park where an unexplainable massacre occurred a few years back. At first, I thought this was going to be one more for the genre, but this author pushed the tropes and the classics, adding new layers and giving a refreshing spin. Things I can't resist: haunted themed park, group of characters (diff

Reread this book 🌸🧡Review: 5 🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸 I appreciate this book greatly for being a Portuguese born (Bettencourt) and Açores is my grandfather's home. Thank you, author, for using the island as inspiration for this amazing story. Also, it took me back to my childhood and great moments of reading Heidi, catching oranges, and reading the Secret Garden. Awesome LGBTQ+ representation with both fathers and P. P brings a lot of action and fun to the story. They are a great sideki
