Such a beautiful edition and heartbreaking end. Operation Make A Splash
Loved this one. Not only Summer is the best, our three friends decide that it's the perfect time to make a splash and win at their goals, unfortunately, nothing goes as planned, and they will have to make some decisions and stand up for their beliefs, even if that means not being accepted (by bullies) or hurting others' feelings (a parent or two). What they always do is find a way to empathize with others and get a solution that works for everyone. Stay true to yourself, but

This Kingdom will not kill me
Review of arc #thiskingdomwillnotkillme 5 plus Fantastic. This book changed my mind about avoiding portal fantasy and isekai protagonists. The authors lean and mold these features to serve the plot, rather than merely serving as a means to discover a new world. Maggie is from our world/contemporary society and she ends up inside an incomplete fantasy series that she has reread over and over to the point of knowing all about the characters. She goes from naked in the mud witho

Updated Images from the broken video
I just noticed that the video didn't upload correctly to the newsletter. I apologize. Here are some screenshots I was able to save from the video of the Rolife projects, including extras I've done to it and next projects, plus testing a crochet cookie box. I got a cookie box bunny. There are plenty of animals and choices. The video instructions can be found on their website and YouTube. That's how you complete this box, following the video. It's for beginners, but the smalles

Review: The Trident and the Pearl
4.5 stars I enjoyed it a lot, what convinced me to jump into this one (besides the cover) was the mention of novels and authors like Juliet Marillier which I love. Also, it's a retelling of the Fisher King myth. A queen makes a deal to save her people: she promises to marry the first man who steps onto the pier, if her husband will save her. She is very loyal and proud, but she also makes mistakes and the gods play ping-pong with her, but she slowly gains independence and sta

Trace Elements
Trace Elements Conversations on the Project of Science Fiction and Fantasy by Jo Walton; Ada Palmer My review 5+ Loved this one. There's so much that could be said and discussed, but the book does it better. So, I'll focus on how I reacted to it. I feel it's a great collection of essays, but I wish it were a documentary. It's a great tool for readers, writers, and reviewers (to be lazy about listing who could benefit from this book). I relate to the authors in a lot of aspect

Chickpea Bread Recipe
I'm addicted to bread. The USA doesn't have the same types, or I would be eating bread 24/7, but here is a good immune system build-up and easy-to-follow recipe to make a chickpea bread that can help. This book has about 90 recipes and a week's meal plan. Lots of good, quick ones.

A philosophical one...
My review 5 stars A lyric, short but powerful read with a philosophical and quite riveting writing structure also with an economic and social focus. The author gives us different POVs, Sarah who moves forward towards freedom getting away from her past, father in prison, dead mother... sees in traveling, studying and knowledge a path for hope but she faces these encounters that take her away from her path. There is so much to say about each and also about all of them as humans

In need of a Classic Satire? Invaders Plan by L Ron Hubbard
Here is a great rec for the weekend, staying in with a sci-fi humor series as the winter is coming. These Aliens will take Earth, we as humans already ruined everything Earth has to offer but they still want it. Tantrums, beer and all. This is a great example of Humor & Satire used together, in different moments, when they mostly make sense. @galaxy_press Artwork Available https://galaxypress.com/product/the-invaders-plan/ Book https://galaxypress.com/original-publications/m

Fantasy & Sci-fi Friday
Here are two contemporary authors known for their silliness and humor. They write amazing characters, nonsensical, hilarious scenes, but they are also great Social Commentary Satire authors. With subtle and sometimes not-so-subtle inspiration in our current times, don't miss these two.
