In Portugal, we say:
8 or 80. I am a 8 or 80 kind of person. I have no middle. I do it or don't even start.
When it comes to books: my books must look new after I read them. I can't dog-ear the pages, take notes, or write on them, I even cringe when I need to sign my own books.
I can't borrow from the library because if I fall in love with the book, it's like returning a puppy to the shelter and never seeing it again.
But I also like unique things. Things that only have one copy in the world. Sometimes I find them in thrift stores. Books that were loved, books that were gifts of love, and children who now are probably adults who lost the love for that particular book.
Sometimes... I even love books that were abandoned for being loved by non-humans.
