CLOUD PUPPY: The Pup Days of Summer by Kelly Leigh Miller and Simon & Schuster (Atheneum)

5 stars 🌟

This is my favorite volume. It combines two of my top super top favorite things (plus cute/kawaii art): Summer (summer camp with best friends) and Amusement Park!! SO relatable, not only is the art on each page therapeutic goodness, it just puts a smile on our faces... We have relatable feelings and fears, thoughts and doubts that true friends can ease. The chapters are satisfying and have more than one core story. Congrats to the

author for this lovely summer adventure. P.S. The detail of the scenery in some of the pages makes us stare at it for a long time just to appreciate the extra love and find new drawings and fun things. Look at the map 🤯

Made me: Smile, want to draw, want summer, want true friends, want to go to an amusement park, want to sing

THE TRAITOR MOTH by Katherine Orton Simon and Schuster

5 stars 🌟

Such a marvelous tale of clans broken apart, cursed and bullied, on a journey/quest of saving all, even those who were mean. Our young mother starts on his own, but he gathers a team of different moth younglings who believe his visions of danger and change. It's not easy to be heard and believed being young and from a disgraced clan, but his perseverance and courage with the help of good friends, make up for all the lacking. Chosen one. From zero to hero on a quest with a team is one of my favorite types of journeys. I listened to an audio provided by the publisher and the narrator was a great match. Congrats to the author for this wonderful story. I hope we can return to their world again with another adventure.

Made me: want to be brave, go on an adventure, write more animal character books, visit this world be their friend

LUCY LANCASTER wants a rematch by Willow Coven

4.5 stars 🌟

Ah! Would you use magic to win all the time? even if you had magical hiccups. Sometimes, winning is not that important if it means hurting good friends. And not winning can teach us valuable lessons. I love that she always identifies that something has gone wrong and fixes it in the best way.

"A good inventor is always ready to try new ideas."

Made me: Want to have magical hiccups 😆, and try again when I make a mistake

Friends, this is a 5+ The light motive of that secondary character getting all confused with the preparations for celebrating Easter makes this book a must in your library. Check out the plot twist!! 🤣 Well done, fun story. Great illustrations. Dual season even. Eheheh.

OLD MACDONALD'S EASTER FARM by Hannah Eliot

4.5 stars 🌟

Here is why I like this book: format, art quality. We can find the eggs in the pages (not hard to find them so not frustrating), we can get inspired to paint and learn how to paint because the eggs have different designs easy to copy, the animals are sweet, the song is a classic, we can practice counting, and each page has a different number of eggs displayed. Farm animals are always a favorite.

Fun for before, during and even after Easter, how many eggs did you find?

Made me: want to paint eggs with my nephews, and egg hunt while we sing

THE CRITTER CLUB Liz Plays Matchmaker

By Callie Barkley

4.5 stars 🌟

So sweet, and what a great idea for a story. Having an adoption event at the elderly center seems like a lot to handle,

"Folks here like their peace and quiet"

T-Rex the turtle is a vegetarian (ahahahahah perfect name). Fun the playfulness of using the puppy's name that is Match.

A great read-along family moment for grandkids and their grand"family" for animal lovers as well.

Made me: Smile, want to volunteer

PEANUTS IT'S THE EASTER BEAGLE CHARLIE BROWN by Charles M. Schulz

5 stars🌟

This is not just a board book, it's a portable fun. I am carrying this one in my bag, pocket-sized, because I am a super fan of Peanuts, and while I am commuting and overwhelmed, opening this for 1 minute will bring me joy. The pocket size is amazing, and the cover is fluffy, must have some sponge or foam inside. Includes all major characters not just 2. They need to color those eggs and hide them, but all gets messed up as a classic fun Peanuts story, if course my favorite character (Snoopy saves the day).

WHERE ARE THE BABY'S EASTER EGGS ny Karen Katz

4.5 Interactive, big flaps to turn, easy to use even for early ages, very colorful and fun. Also quite relatable to the activities of this she, the hunt leads to different fun objects.

WELCOME SPRING by Apryl Stott

5stars

I love this book, it has the perfect classic art style that takes me back to Sarah Kay and Jill Barklem and that makes me forget the terrible usage of new machine trends. This is sweet, inspires us to welcome spring in our own way, she meets different friends and they all have their own unique way of celebrating spring. I get that yours is different from mine, and that diversity is welcomed. Gorgeous, gorgeous cover. The double pages are simply Paintings. will make a paper watercolor miniature diorama inspired by this one in my blog soon.

Made me want to make miniature dioramas in paper and draw classic animal stories.

LITTLE CHICK by Hannah Eliot

5 stars

Love when these board books have some kind of foam inside the cover that makes them soft and cozy. Perfect for Mother's Day, Children's Day. The message is wonderful, there is a big whole world with danger and good things, but we'll always be our mom's little chick.

CHICKA CHICKA PEEP PEEP by Julien Chung

5 stars

Learning the alphabet, noticing shapes and colors, actions, and animals. This is all hands up for Design. My personal taste is of a more classic approach to drawing and sketching illustrations, but this is at the top of my blog when I want to recommend books to parents and educators who have a more minimalistic color and design focus. It's efficient and well-formatted. The book is a tall, long horizontal format, which makes wide, broad double pages.

COULD THAT BE THE EASTER BUNNY?

by Hannah Eliot

5 stars

Perfect match the author and this illustrator, I love their books, individual or working together. Interactive with fun cuts on the board pages that change the illustrations as the story goes. The kids think they are seeing the Easter bunny, but find a fun new world thing around each corner. Very sweet and pretty.
