I can't resist these, because I've always read them from classics to today, I grab them immediately. And having this author write something like this is an extra gift. It's a book filled with layers, trying to please many readers, so some parts were too long or not my fav theme, but overall, this playing God is always an amazing read. Also recommend the audiobook, great narrator for this one.
Without comparing, just taking it for face value: great concept, makes us wonder would we accept a not-quite-tested solution when what you have ahead is euthanasia? Even after reading all the horrors they went through I'm still not sure if I would refuse it. The cast is fun, the elderly wanting a second chance, a thing that just wants to survive and feed, and a genius girl with no moral compass. I had a great time.
