The concept is awesome. The first half is great, and I don't regret reading it. Volume one could have ended with that major sad event, and I would have been satisfied. Everything has a great concept, but the rhythm and focus didn't work. I trust that this author can go far, but it's not there just yet (for me). The second half of the book may be your favorite, so give it a try if you like a YA plot and drama with a lot of back and forth to the style of famous vampire-ya amazing TV shows. Read this! Better: get the audiobook. The narrator is awesome.
We have witches, magic, and a main character lost, trying to make the best choices. She is so confident and cool in the beginning, and the more she discovers, the more she will be lost. Awesome narrator and audiobook. I want to see what this author will do after more books come out. I loved the idea of underground magic, that we can order potions, and they can also be used to change politics and help improve the lives of those who are treated as minorities. The witchers pay a huge price for each potion they brew, and V makes a lot of mistakes, but she tries to keep her younger sister safe no matter what.ย
