✅️Three Days To Forever

5+ High stakes. Hitman and national security.

Great switch, a bit of a departure from the previous Christian themes (only one novel). We're back to a more urban, larger-scale conspiracy, threats, and the past knocking on their doors with trouble. David gets the lead in this book more than Mac in police work, and is entrusted with a protection task to make sure the past doesn't kill Archie's bride-to-be. While Mac has to be a little paranoid, which saves them a lot of times from murder attempts... also dealing with his mother-in-law's critiques. That scene is hilarious. Goes from her realizing she is offending him, and he is carrying a gun and lots of patience. It ends up with his more than that, ot goes serious into a shooting with loss.

Now... Mac and Archie are not the only targets. Jessica Faraday (Mac's daughter and one of the reasons he decided not to have more kids) is attacked but they didn't expect Jessica to be sassy.

Loved Murphy too and Agnes.

“You got everything in here but the kitchen sink, Agnes!” (after inspecting the contents of her bag)

It's a race because no place is safe unless they catch these criminals. And it escalates fast.

For those who find Gnarly not as hilarious he will not be as active in this one. (Miss you boy).

This volume would make a great movie.

It's non-stop action, and the women are confident and sassy which makes me curious to read the series by this author which has female leads. Super fun twist on the wedding ending.

P.S. I wish the author could revamp all of this series covers for some anniversary or something

✅️ Open Season for Murder

4.5 After a blockbuster, non-stop international high-stakes, we go back to focusing on small-town murders, this time happening during the Diablo gala at the Spencer Inn. This is only for A-invites, but there will be surprises. Gnarly is back to himself, with fun antics and some misunderstandings, which dive Mac into another investigation. Fun, comfy mystery as this author has us used to.

✅️ 4.5 Many books and series can only be read once, this is not the case with Lauren Carr's series. It's not just about the solution of whodunit, it's more. It's missing these characters who have become our friends, family, pets.

When I need to have a great moment with a book, characters with lots of plot twists I grab one of her books. The audiobooks are so fun.

This one! Oh David. He is about to marry one wonderful woman, but he has no idea that he married another years ago when they had too much champagne and went go through a thrive-through weekend chapel. Only to go to NY (with Mac and Gnarly) to find her and cancel that marriage but trip on a murder case. And discover who is the "Robin-great-love-to- him" as the author Robin was to his father.

Ok. I did not see this one coming and the murder case was very well set up and written. (several major plot twists) coming.

P.s. Gnarly ate the wedding rings and neglected sandwiches 😁
